About Me

I have extensive training in short-term dynamic psychotherapy, including Intensive Short-Term Dynamic Psychotherapy (ISTDP) and Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP). My approach is focused on helping clients get to the root of their suffering as efficiently and compassionately as possible, while moving at a pace that feels manageable and collaborative.

I bring my full, authentic self into the therapy room and value transparency, warmth, and genuine connection in the therapeutic relationship. Having practiced in the Bay Area throughout my career, I have worked with a highly diverse client population, including many first- and second-generation immigrants. I am deeply familiar with the complexities of acculturation, identity, and intergenerational dynamics, and I approach this work with cultural humility and sensitivity.

I also work extensively with individuals in the tech industry and others in high-pressure careers who may struggle with chronic stress, perfectionism, impostor syndrome, anxiety, and harsh self-criticism. In addition, I have significant experience supporting clients through women’s mental health concerns, including PMDD, postpartum mental health challenges, perimenopause, and menopause.

My goal is to help clients better understand what feels stuck, painful, or disconnected in their lives and to work through those experiences with greater self-compassion, clarity, and emotional freedom.

Next Steps, Together

Are you a high-achieving professional feeling overwhelmed by the pressure to "have it all together"? Do you find yourself caught between career demands and personal fulfillment, struggling with perfectionism, anxiety, or feeling disconnected from your emotions? You don't have to navigate this alone. I'm Julia a therapist with over 10 years of experience helping people break through barriers to create more authentic, fulfilling lives. My approach is warm, relational, and dedicated to creating lasting change. I believe in the power of humor, authentic connection, and helping you discover patterns that no longer serve you.

I work with people who are ready to do the sometimes challenging work of looking at patterns, feeling difficult emotions, and making real changes in their lives. This isn't about surface-level coping strategies (though we'll develop those too) – it's about getting to the root of what's keeping you stuck so you can create sustainable change.Taking the first step toward therapy can feel vulnerable, and I want you to feel confident in your choice. I offer brief phone consultations where we can discuss your goals and see if we might be a good fit to work together. Ready to start creating the changes you've been seeking? I'd love to hear from you.
